The biblical meaning of condemnation

Condemnation does not come from God because of Jesus.  ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8: 1-2, KJV).

Then who condemn us in front of God?  The devil. The devil is the accuser of our brethren and he “accused them before our God day and night” (Revelation 12: 10, KJV).

Let us now go to Genesis 4: 16 to know how the devil condemns a person without even the person realizes that he/she has been deceived into it.

Genesis 4: 16 (KJV)

And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

While ‘the land of Nod’ and ‘on the east of Eden’ have profound spiritual meanings,  I do not want to talk about them today.  However, it is sufficient to just say that Cain was demonized and therefore belonged completely to the devil and he was not able to eat the tree of life.  This is because the Cherubims which was placed at the east of the garden of Eden is to prevent the spirit of devil from eating the tree of life.  This means that Cain was completely in darkness.

This is major revelation as the devil is interested in getting into the family of God to be part of the family, that is to eat the tree of life.  Eat means believe.  The devil is trying to get the people of God (tree of life) to believe him (by deception) through which he could remain in the family of God as a member and the Lord could not destroy him because the enemy is in the family.  Destroying the devil is actually destroying God’s people and God Himself.  That is why Jesus came to destroy His Father’s family and to build a new one through the Cross.

Let us now go to another part of the verse “Cain went out from the presence of the LORD”.  Cain had committed a serious sin and therefore belonged to the devil completely.  The devil sins from the beginning and whoever commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3: 8, KJV).  In front of the Lord, the devil condemned Cain as if the condemnation came from God because the devil was in the family of God.  Hence, Cain felt this condemnation and went out from the presence of the LORD and dwelt in the land of darkness.  Therefore, in order to protect Cain which was already in the darkness fully (in the hand of devil fully) the Lord warned the devil of the consequences of killing Cain as “the vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold”.  Wow! this is major.  First, what a good God the Lord we have.  Second, the blessing of the Lord upon Cain was also included on the Cross, even though they (Cain represents the people in the dark side) have not come to claim it.

Jesus Christ has defined this meaning of condemnation which comes from the devil and not God clearly in John 3: 17-21.  Let us go to the scriptures and read them aloud.

John 3: 17-21 (KJV)

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (discovered).

21 But he that doesth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Notice the meaning of condemnation as defined by Jesus in verse 19.  This is the condemnation: that light has come into the world and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.

Because a serious sin was committed, Cain belonged to the devil.  Belonging to the devil, Cain loved to do the desire of the devil. Jesus said that “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do” (John 8: 44, NKJV).  In short, Cain loved darkness. “For every one that doesth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be discovered”.  So, “Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden”.  In other words, he went out of the glory of God and dwelt in the land of devil (the land of darkness) and the tree of life was prevented from him.

Therefore, the devil deceives people into believing him (the devil) through their own thought which the devil has planted.  As a result, they leave the presence of the Lord naturally.

I pray that as you read this writing, the Holy Spirit will take this revelation on the meaning of condemnation to be your own revelation and that you will be free from the deception of the devil and love this wonderful God, Jesus Christ, for He is good and He condemns us not.  He loves us unconditionally (without condition that we have to love Him first for no one loves the Lord because all have sins and fall short of the grace of God – He loves us first) by taking all our condemnations on His shoulder  and nailing them once for all to the Cross.  Thank  you very much, Jesus Christ, my Lord and my God.
